Finals Weekend

The above photo shows our 2 club champions Vivienne Beattie and Anto Grey receiving their trophies from President Ian Flood.  There were some very exiting finals over the weekend and some excellent bowling despite the very inclement weather.  Well done to all those who made it through to the weekend both winners and runners up.

For a full list of winners and runners up as well as photographs of the prize giving see the “finals weekend” tab under “domestic competitions” or if you prefer click on this link

Dunlop Tankard

56 members of the club turned up to play for the Dunlop Tankard on bank holiday Monday the 7th of August.  I very entertaining afternoon was had by all with some very tight matches.  Of the 7 matches played,  in 5 of them the differential was 5 or less, in fact on 2 rinks the differential was 1 shot. The other 2 rinks decided who was second and who were the champions.

In second place were

Carol Lyons, Ian Quinn, Catherine Hackett & skip John Jowett.

The champions were

Billy Tomkins, Carmel Groarke, Tom Byrne &  skipTess Wyeth.

It was great to see some new players on the podium.

After the match Albert supplied the refreshments for the players doing his usual excellent job.

Below are some photos of the day.
