Crumlin Cup Final

Our Division 2 team travelled to Kenilworth Bowling Club yesterday where they played Meath in the final of the Crumlin Cup which we last won in 2017. Unfortunately it was not to be this year, Meath who have been leading Division 2 all season were a step to far for us, even though we are one of only 2 teams that have beaten them so far this year in the league. We travel to Meath next Saturday for our penultimate league match and we hope to make up for yesterdays loss then.

Above is a photograph of the team taken before the match.

Crumlin Cup Semi Final 2022

Dun Laoghaire and Greenhills Division 2 teams about to start their Crumlin Cup Semi Final in North Kildare this afternoon.  The umbrellas are to keep us in the shade not for rain.

A very enjoyable match ensued which was tight all the way to the end.  However every member of the Dun Laoghaire team played very well and came out on top by 75 shots to 67.  Our reward is a final against Meath on Sunday the 28th of August, the venue to be announced in the near future.

Our thanks to North Kildare for the use of the green and the very welcome refreshments after the match.  Thanks also to Sandra Seery of North Kildare who provided the above photograph.

LBLI Championships 2022

Our ladies played very well in both finals but unfortunately it was not to be, they were pipped at the post in both. However they had a great run and represented the club very well. They are pictured above collecting one of their runner up trophies. Also in the picture is Sheila Kelly the Competition Secretary (Holding the Trophy) and in the blazer the LBLI president Catherine Hazlett.

Congratulations

Congratulations to Gay, Vivienne, Margaret and Eithne who have just completed two fabulous bowling matches. They are now in the final of both the Over 55’s and Senior Rinks competitions in the LBLI Championship. They will be playing either tomorrow or Thursday or maybe both dates. The dates and times will be on the Online Scoring sheets later on the evening.

We wish them the best of luck in both finals.

The Cup was presented in memory of the Dunlops’ who were founding members of the Club by their daughter, Myrtle Sullivan who was once again on hand to present the prizes and supply some lovely cakes / brack.

Winning team, Paul Kingston, Richard Boushell and Mary Kehoe, runners up Nigel Teggin, Carmel Groarke, Ann McDermott and Di Weldon.

Thanks to Nigel Teggin who supplied the above summary as well as the photos.
