Domestic Competitions Closing Date and Draw

The closing date for the domestic competitions has been extended until Sunday the 3rd of April to facilitate those playing in the Presidents Day competition.  So if you havn’t entered yet you can give your entry to our treasurer Sandra on Sunday afternoon at the latest.

Entries close at 16.00 on the Sunday in order to give our Competition Secretaries time to prepare for the draw.  The draw will take place in the club house immediately after completion of Tuesday Mornings Social Roll up on the 5th of April.  All members are invited to attend the draw.

All Weather League

Congratulations to our A team on winning a closely fought final in the beautiful sunshine in Bray today. It was great to see so many of the club members attend and support them. That’s the first of the silverware collected for this year.

Club Competition Rules

Minor amendments have been made to the Club Competition Rules.  It is hoped that these are now clearer and easier to understand.  If you have any queries in connection with the club rules these should be addressed to either Mike Brophy or Hazel Higgins, the two competition secretaries.  They are the only people who are empowered to make rulings with regards to club competition matters.

The revised Club Competition Rules can be viewed at

AWBA Final

Congratulations to our A team on reaching the final of the All Weather League.  The final will be played on next Saturday the 26th of March starting at 11.00 am.  Our opponents are Meath Bowling Club and the location is Bray Bowling Club.

We wish our team all the best on the day and hope for a big turn out of Dun Laoghaire members to support and cheer on our team.

Updates and Deadline

ENTRIES FOR CLUB COMPETITIONS & BLI Competitions

Please note all entries must be in by 2nd April. If anyone needs a paper copy of the Club Entry Form, Paul  will have some with me at Social Bowls on Tuesday.
Please get your entries in as soon as possible.

PRESIDENT’S DAY & UNVEILING OF NAME STONE

Sunday, 3rd April is our President’s Day. This is the 10th Anniversary of the Club’s move from Moran Park to Eglington Park. To mark the occasion a Name Stone is being erected at the entrance on Eglington Park and we have combined the unveiling of the Name Stone with our President’s Day.

The unveiling will take place at 1.30pm and we hope as many of our Members as possible will be present for it.

As soon as the unveiling has taken place, we will focus on getting ready for play, but it is likely to be a little later than 2.00pm which we originally announced. We invite you all to come for the unveiling and those who are signed up to play will be on the rinks as soon as possible.

There are still 4 vacant places on the ladies list, which we would like to see taken up, so that we have all rinks full on the day.
