Club Competition Rules

Minor amendments have been made to the Club Competition Rules.  It is hoped that these are now clearer and easier to understand.  If you have any queries in connection with the club rules these should be addressed to either Mike Brophy or Hazel Higgins, the two competition secretaries.  They are the only people who are empowered to make rulings with regards to club competition matters.

The revised Club Competition Rules can be viewed at

Updates and Deadline

ENTRIES FOR CLUB COMPETITIONS & BLI Competitions

Please note all entries must be in by 2nd April. If anyone needs a paper copy of the Club Entry Form, Paul  will have some with me at Social Bowls on Tuesday.
Please get your entries in as soon as possible.

PRESIDENT’S DAY & UNVEILING OF NAME STONE

Sunday, 3rd April is our President’s Day. This is the 10th Anniversary of the Club’s move from Moran Park to Eglington Park. To mark the occasion a Name Stone is being erected at the entrance on Eglington Park and we have combined the unveiling of the Name Stone with our President’s Day.

The unveiling will take place at 1.30pm and we hope as many of our Members as possible will be present for it.

As soon as the unveiling has taken place, we will focus on getting ready for play, but it is likely to be a little later than 2.00pm which we originally announced. We invite you all to come for the unveiling and those who are signed up to play will be on the rinks as soon as possible.

There are still 4 vacant places on the ladies list, which we would like to see taken up, so that we have all rinks full on the day.

Winter Mixed Pairs Final

Our congratulations to Catherine Hackett and Anto Grey who have the distinction of being the first winners our new domestic competition “The Winter Mixed Pairs”.  Our commiserations go to Sandra Eglington and Gerry McGinley who were the gallant runners up.  Thanks also to all those who came along to view an excellent afternoon bowling as well as supporting the four finalists. Winter Mixed Pairs Final

The Inaugural Winter Mixed Pairs league sections come to a conclusion today.  With one match still to be played we can now declare that Anto Grey and Catherine Hackett won the Lion’s League whilst Gerry McGinley and Sandra Eglington won the Tiger’s League.  Congratulation to the 4 of them on winning their respective leagues.  For the full tables see

The 4 will now meet in the final to decide on the overall winner next Friday the 4th of March at 1.15 pm.  The same rules as applied throughout the competition will continue to apply except the Competition Secretaries will decide which rink is to be used.

This is the first domestic final of the year and it is hoped a good crowd will turn up to support the finalists.  Perhaps the Friday morning bowlers will remain behind to watch what should be some great bowling in the afternoon.

Looking forward to a good match and plenty of support on Friday.
